Hello everyone.
I hold a passport which is eligible for eVisitor (subclass 651) visa and I'd like to visit my de-facto partner in Australia (She's been "stuck" there for some time due to various reasons)
So my questions are:
  1. Are eVisitor (651) visas being granted now and is the process much tougher than pre-covid ?
  2. Can eVisitor be granted if I don't have a travel exemption yet? I am asking this, because for me the eVisitor processing time will likely take about a month (I'm from an Eastern European country, which they might consider "risky"). So I would like to apply for it asap. But travel exemption requires more effort (although processed within ~7 days), so I need more time there to collect/translate documents. So is the lack of a travel exemption a blocker for granting an eVisitor ?

1. Yes they are and no, it’s just different.
2. No - you need the exemption first.
