Hello to all,

Currently, I am on a 190 visa. My wife (main applicant) and kid (dependent applicant) obtained subclass 100 visa recently. We are planning to fly in the month of December 2017 to Sydney, Australia.

Since I am bringing my family with me over there, if my wife and kid are entitled to any social security support ?

The reason why I am asking this is because it is better to understand/prepare how a family can survive if I lose my job at some stage ?

It depends how long you have been living in Australia under your 190 visa as you need to meet the residency requirements which is 104 weeks.

Your wife and kids will get parenting allowances but non- family allowances are subject to residency requirements.

Just so you know the allowances from Centrelink are not alot of money.
