Hi Forum members,
Newbie here
I'm an Australian citizen married to a US citizen. I'm planning to start our permanent partner visa application in February 2019. My husband and I have been in a long distance relationship (on and off) since 2008 but got married in May 2016.
In May 2019, we will be married for a total of 3 years.
I have lived in the US with my husband for a total of 2 years and 5 months. I returned to Australia in August 2018 as we both agreed for me to take a better job opportunity here in Australia. In February 2019 it will be 6 months since we have been living apart. Husband wants to permanently join me here in Australia in February.
My question is do we qualify for a permanent partner visa since we have now lived apart for almost 6 months?
Should we wait and apply for the permanent partner visa in May 2019 when we are going to be married for 3 years?
Many thanks in advance, any help/clarification would be very much appreciated.
