They might suggest you take it to a car dealer that buys cars for cash on the spot.

A lot of Australians sell cars that way, when in a hurry.

It’s not that unusual. Backpackers in Cairns often find themselves in that position. You can always try and apply for another tourist visa, if the car is worth it.

There are also places that will sell your car for you (depends I assume on the quality of the car though). Pickles Auctions is one I have used.
