Hello Everyone! Sorry in advance if this is a repost, I tried my best to find my answers on here but couldnt.

If I enter on a 90day tourist visa, which gives me no working rights, will I have working rights during my bridging visa (to partner visa)? I’ve read you maintain the same rights as what your initial visa has granted you? But then I read that it doesnt apply to certain visas, including the partner visas? Can someone please clarify this for me.

Thanks in advance!

Assuming you're referring to a tourist/visitor visa that doesn't have a no further stay condition, after you apply for the partner visa you will be granted a bridging visa with work rights. However, the bridging visa will only kick in when your current visa expires, so you won't be able to work until that time.

Kind regards

I'm actually referring to the ETA (since i'm American), not sure if its considered a visa? Does the ETA have a no further stay condition?

I've also just read that if I do a work and holiday visa, I can apply to extend my employment more than 6 months with an employer, if I fall under a given circumstance. One circumstance is waiting for a decision on another Australian visa, which would be the partner visa. Is this actually possible? I would really like to start working once I come back to australia instead of waiting for my ETA to expire to begin working with rights from the bridging visa.
