A bit of a story for why I have this question. I became a vegan a few years ago. I have few healthy options especially when I travel. One of the things that I regularly do while at home is to make a healthy smoothie. But when I go out, there’s smoothie bars I have to search and go to. Here’s the question - you can almost always find a coffee vending machine but not a smoothie vending machine. Is there a good reason for that? Is it as simple as people don’t care about having a smoothie? I have researched as much as I could. I pitched my idea to my friends and a couple investors (not my potential investors), they all said it was good but kept asking the same question. If it’s obvious, why hasn’t anyone made the product? For example: I see there’s smoothie bars at a lot of gyms these days. Usually a space about 10’x15’ plus one to two people is required to run the smoothie bar. Per my back of the napkin calculation, I can replace it with a box in a 4’x4” and about the same cost or less. There, I put the idea out there and would like to see strong critiques.

There is no point in making smoothie machines, because no one will buy them. Not even that, let's imagine that there are two machines on the street, one with coffee and one with smoothies. Out of 100 people, 85 people will go to buy coffee, that's all. Unfortunately, few people are interested in a healthy lifestyle today. But speaking from a business point of view, I would also produce coffee machines. In truth, I have a similar business. A few years ago, the business experts Financial Advisory Valuations: Benchmark Your Business & Maximize Value and I were thinking about the idea of a food business. As a result, we came to the simplest conclusion that there is nothing more profitable than pizza, hot dogs, cola and coffee, so I opened my own shawarma shop.

People avoid coffee vending machines, as they prefer fresh coffee.

I would assume the same logic would apply to smoothies.

Smoothie bars are very popular, and you get to see what actually goes in.

A vending machine doesn't give the same confidence.
