Hello all!

I did a Live Scan for California Police Check on Sep. 29th, have yet to receive anything back yet. I got my FBI check back very quickly.

Does anyone know the time frame the DOJ takes to get the state police checks to you? It's the last document I need to upload... Any help would be great!

Cheers!!!

Are State Checks in the US even needed? What visa are you applying for? I thought only US FBI checks are needed?
We are applying for a PMV 300. In my second stage of processing, 8 months after applying and paying... Our case worker contacted us and gave me a checklist of items to upload.

Health Check
FBI Report
CA State wide police check, livescan.
Notarized intent to marry form
Notarized Passport copy
Written relationship history statement.

Yes, state checks are needed for partner visas for any state resided in at least 3 months of the 12 months prior to applying (this is not a new thing and is listed on the DIBP website).
Oh gotcha. I haven't actually lived in the US in 3+ years, so I think I wouldn't need a state check then and my FBI check should suffice?

This original post is about STATE CHECK DOJ WAIT TIMES.... Not if you will need one. Head to another thread or start your own new one in regards to your situation. Thanks!

According to their website, 3 days then notification electronically or by US Post.

"DELAYS: While most of the time results are returned to the applicant agency within three days, delays can occur. Applicants should check with the applicant agency that requested the background review
since the DOJ sends results directly to the applicant agency. Delays can be caused by poor fingerprint quality, the existence of any criminal information in the applicant's record, birthdates before 1920, and incorrect data submitted on the electronic transaction. You can help prevent delays by making sure the Live Scan operator has entered ALL the information on your Live Scan form and entered it CORRECTLY."

https://oag.ca.gov/fingerprints/applicants

You should follow the advice of the website and contact the application agency.
