Hi,
My wife is a PR holder working and living in Australia.
Her visa is exactly Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme (Subclass 119/857). The visa is given by Northern Territory.
Looking at the immigration site of Australia government there is an obligation for the employee to remain working in the same position in the regional area at least for two years.
Hence I would like to get your advise on the following:-
1. Can I get a visa as a dependent/partner?
2. If I get a visa, am I restricted to work in the same regional area? Or can I work anywhere in Australia?
3. Can she work anywhere in Australia after two years using the existing visa?

Can anybody shed some light on this, please?

Many Thanks.

As a PR your wife could be sponsor for a partner visa for yourself and you could work anywhere in Australia as can your wife once her RSMS two year commitment ends.

Thank you very much for your reply.
Just to clarify:- does that mean she can work anywhere in Australia after the two year commitment without making any change to the current visa(sponsored by Northern Territory)? Or should she change the current visa to some other category? Or should she get any sponsorship from other regions/territory?
Please advise/help.
Thanks again!

Seeing as she already has the visa you cannot change it and it'll be best that she just fulfills the regional working requirement and then she is free to go anywhere.

Again got a confused after a couple of days' thoughts.

Do you mean that once she fulfills the regional working requirement, she can work in other parts of Australia including Capital cities like Sydney,Melbourne,Brisbane, etc.. ?

It would be great if you can advise.

Thanks again.

That is what going anywhere means as with PR, once any initial conditional grant requirements are met there are no restrictions.
