Hi, can anyone clarify about certifying documents on the 309 partner visa online application, as I have heard along the grapevine that if you have colour scan documents there is no need to certify documents. Is this true? I have read that people upload scan colour documents, but have their passports certified. IS this something that we will need to get certified, our passports?
Is a photo of the documents justifiable or will they need to be scanned?

Also the statements that my partner and I have written, will they need to be certified/signed?
Any help would be appreciated.

It depends on where you are applying from. While people applying for the 820 seem to have no issues with color scans, some applicants for the 309 had been asked for certified scans by their embassy. Your CO will inform you if certified scans are necessary.

For all partner visas, the DIBP website says certified copies are not needed. It may be case specific (think I've only heard of it once on here) and probably more to do with, I would think, questioning the validity of the supplied scan so a certified true copy of an original may be requested.

Basically, don't worry about it unless specifically asked, and you likely won't be.
