Hi all. I have 3 months left on my 457 sponsorship and I have just submitted an application for a 820 visa. My current boss is happy for me to leave the company and work for somebody else and keep my 457 active until it expires. Had anybody else switched companies and kept their 457 active with their previous sponsor?
It is technically unlawful to do this. Your 457 has the condition 8107 on it. The condition says that you can only work for your sponsoring employer. You had better hope the Department doesn't find out.
