Hi everyone.

About section 501 for passing the character test, I've seen in many post's people saying like 'relax' if you didn't serve prison sentence more than 12 months you will be alright, well that's not true because the IMMI has many powers to cancel your visa or refuse your visa, there is a ground under section 116 that if you commit an offence in Australia and you hold an temporary visa your visa can be cancelled even if you didn't serve jail time or even there was no conviction imposed on your sentence.

So I am just wondering has anyone here had complex case for getting visa with criminal record (even not serving jail time) and got approved?
Or anyone here had their visa in process where they got a Notice of Intention to Consider Cancellation and got avoided cancellation based on criminal convictions/character case? Or anything similar

Please post under

Thanks

It is impossible to answer such broad questions in the absence of a specific set of facts.

Ok ill make it simple.
1. Anyone here had their visa granted even though they had a criminal record?

2. Anyone here who resides on temporary visa and had made criminal convictions(got criminal record) while in Australia avoided cancellation of their visa?

(tell us more about your cases)
