Citizenship 2018

Hi everyone
Haven’t been on this forum for a while now
I have started my journey here to get a 309 visa then on my 100 visa. This forum has been there for me throughout that journey
Since then my 2 children have also joined me here and we are all PR and enjoying our lives here.
The next stage for us is to apply for citizenship.
We have met the criteria and I am now looking at the application process and checklists and what documents are needed.
I’m telling you it brings back memories when I was doing the 309/100 visa
So my situation is this me and my daughter 12yrs old will be applying online while my 16yrs old son will have to apply on separate application online on his own.
First of all is this correct?
If someone in here has gone through citizenship journey can we share some thoughts please.
Would like to know how long process is generally and what’s it like in general...
Looking forward to hearing from you
Cheers!

From what I know the 16 year old applies in their own right therefore they need to meet the residency requirements on their own. So for example if they did not join you until March 2015 then they are not eligible until March 2019.

Out if curiosity were you in Australia on a different Visa before you got your 309? Your time line indicates that you are not eligible for citizenship (under the current rules) until the end of the year.

Ahhh your time line must be for the 100 and not 309, it always good to double check.

Apply now for yours. They haven't put any new rules to parliament for voting yet that I have heard of but who knows when or if it will happen.

With the documents you need to supply there is also a form that needs to be submitted by an Australian citizen who has known you for 2 years who are of a specific occupation.
Thanks everyone
How many citizens should I include? 1 person 2 persons
Also when they ask you to list all countries you have been to since you were 18, what if you don't remember it all especially dates?
Can you write approximate dates?
I am up to that page in the application form..25 more pages to go
Yeayy...
Just one citizen but they need to be someone from the approved list (not every Australian citizen can sign the form. Also they cannot be related to you by birth, marriage or de facto. So even though I am an Australian citizen and have an occupation on the approved list I cannot do my husband's because of marriage, however one of my friends can do it.

In regards to travel not to or from Australia check your old applications to what you wrote as it should match.
