Hello friends,

I am Australian living in the US, my baby girl was born here 2 months ago and I applied for her Australian citizenship by descent few days after birth ( it's been almost 2 months since applied! still nothing.).

the baby girl holds an American passport and we are flying to Australia next week, she is entering Australia on her American passport as a visitor.

I am worried that they will approve her Australian citizenship this week, and that will mess up our travel plan as she will need to get an Australian passport to enter Australia.

my question is, should I contact the DIBP telling them that the applicant (the baby girl) will be travelling to Australia as a visitor next week? so that they don't approve her citizenship until she's in Australia?

Anyone has any experience in this topic? Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance
