Hi everyone
Just looking to see if anyone can give me some advice on my situation.
My Dad was born in Australia (Whyalla) in 1953. He left Australia a few years later and never owned an Australian Passport, but does have an Australian Birth Certificate. He has not lived in Australia since.
I was born in 1986 outside of Australia.
Am I entitled to Citizenship by Descent? It looks to me that I am, as my Dad has a Australian Birth Certificate, and is therefore an Australian Citizen, therefore I am eligible?
I looked at this about 10 years ago and came away believing I was NOT eligible. Am I wrong, or have the rules on this changed in the past 10 years?
Any information anyone can give me is much appreciated.
Darren
