Hi,
My partner from lebanon has applied for prospective marriage visa to come to australia about 2 months ago.. im new to this whole visa thing dont know too much about it all.
i need some answers because im really confused..
after my partner lodged the application in beirut lebanon, he was asked 1 week later to go in for an interview! is this normal! i find it really quick..
and 3 days after the interview he was booked to go in for medical examination..
what does it all mean…? have they looked through the application and saw him to be a good genuine candidate therefore appointing him for an interview only a week later?
or is this a normal process?
we supplied all the documentation that was needed along with the application,they said everything was there..

any answers would be much appreciated

I am Lebanese, my partner is Australian, I submitted my application in Dubai, with proof of our 3years realtionship, police checks and all, i was assigned a CO after few days, and then after they contacted me to start my medicals,
However, I think that when you go for your medicals, this is a confirmation that you have all the necesary doxuments/ proofs for your case.
Now him being from a high risk country, they will start a Character check / background check wich can take up to 6 month, once this is cleared, they will assess the proofs and how geniuin is the relation. This is what I understood from My CO about my case.
