Hi, I'm applying for Australian citizenship for my daughter online. I've filled in everything and have come to the page where I need to attach scanned copies of documents, such as birth certifcate, passport, etc.

My question is, do I need to have these certified before I attach them?

I don't find anything about this on the page where I attach the documents. But on a home affairs website I find this:

"If you apply:
  • online through the website, you will be prompted to attach scanned copies of your documents. You must then bring your original documents to your citizenship appointment.
  • on a paper form, attach certified copies of your documents to your application. You must then bring your original documents to your citizenship appointment."

Does this mean I can attach the scanned copies without having them certified?? Is there anyone who has applied for citizenship online and been through this?

yes, clear scans of originals is what we supplied. No issues.
