Hi All,
Is anyone able to tell me whether I can live and work in Australia once we have lodged our Application for a Contributory Parent Visa 173 or 143 while we are waiting for it to be granted.
Do we get issued with a Bridging Visa while we wait or do we automatically get to live and work while we wait.

The sc. 143 is an offshore visa, so no bridging visa and definitely no work rights.

Are we allowed to stay in Australia on a Tourist Visa once our application has been lodged but not yet granted. We are thinking of asking for the family sponsored visitor visa for 12 months.
This information is much appreciated.
We will definitely be using a Mara Immigration Officer when we have finally sold our Property here in Spain.

My income is less than $40k/year but my husband's income is more than $70k/year. Can I be their sponsor or my husband? As I was their sponsor for their visa subclass 173. Thanks in advance.

I have applied 173 visa for my aged parents. Their file opened in Feb and we submitted all documents within time frame but no answer yet. Could anyone tell why they are taking so long.
