My wife and I are working through an 820 visa application. We are currently unsure about the following question -
"Have any of the applicants lived in a country for more than 12 months cumulatively in the past 10 years?"
My wife lived in Japan for 211 days on a working holiday visa. However, she has also had several holidays in Japan putting the total number of days spent in Japan to 367 days.
My feeling is that she has not lived in Japan for more than 12 months. We have provided the dates for all visits to countries other than her home country under the section - "Have any of the applicants visited any countries for less than 12 months in the past 10 years?" Is this correct?
Also, since she has spent 367 days in Japan, will she need to provide a police check for Japan? We already have two police checks (Australia and Taiwan) so a third police check seems a little bit like overkill considering how close it is to 12 months.
