Hey all!!

I'm currently doing drafts for friends and family members for the statutory declarations,

If I'm completely honest I'm so lost with this!

What type of stuff do the case workers want to see when reading a stat dec?

Any help is really appreciated :)

Thank you all in advance :)

Get them to state how long they have known the two of you for / how they know you, how long they've known you as as a couple.

Also, how often they are in contact with the two of you (e.g. how often you go out together, visit each other).

Have they been to visit you in your shared flat/house? Have you been on holidays together? Let them give their impression of how your household works, how you share finances, what plans you have your future together that they know about.

Also important: they must state the type of relationship you are in, e.g. make sure they use "defacto partner" rather than "boyfriend"

Form 888. Remember to use specific expressions.
Question 4: To the best of my knowledge X and Y have been in the de facto relationship for ...(how many years). I believe their relationship has been genuine and continuing.
I've heard a lot of stories that a case officer wasn't happy with stat dclarations without these expressions.
