Me and my boyfriend have been dating for 5 years, and I've lived with him in Australia for a little over a year. I'm originally from the USA, while he is a born and raised Aussie.
I was on the work and holiday visa when I fell pregnant with our first baby. I got onto the visitor visa before our daughter was born because the work and holiday visa that I previously held does not allow you to have dependant children with you.
Me and my boyfriend are now trying to get me onto the de facto visa, so I am able to stay here and we can raise our little girl together.
Because we have a baby together, would that make it easier for my visa to be granted? I meet most (if not all) of the other requirements for this visa, I'm just worried that it would get denied and I'd have to separate him from our baby for who knows how long..
Does anyone know what would happen/what we should do?
