Hi all,

I'm currently in australia on a working holiday visa, but want to apply for a de facto visa with my partner (we were orginally going to do that last year but there was a miscommunication down the line)
I've got all the forms etc. and am working on the stat decs but can't find anywhere how much the visa costs or if i need savings/how much etc to be eligible.

Can someone please help me with this?

Thanks
Kathryn

Hi Kathryn,

All the information is on the DIAC site:

Partner Visa: Onshore Temporary and Permanent (Subclasses 820 and 801)

There is a visa charges section there. You'll find it's probably over $2000 to apply onshore.

As for finances, your sponsor must show at least $29 000 in income to support you. If they have received the full amount of any social welfare payments, they might not be able to show they can support you, and so you may need an AoS. You can read about his Assurance of Support on the site link I gave you, and can go to the Centrelink site to find out more.
