Hello everyone,

My older sibling tried to sponsor my mother and me to live in Australia via the contributory parent visa subclass 143.

This subclass is applied when I was 22 years old. I am now over 23 years old. I am studying master degree (full time), no working experience yet, no job, all financial is depended on my mother and single.

The dependent child policies states that the dependent child must be under 23 years old and the visa subclass 143 needs to take 36 months to process.

I have a question that the dependent child must be under 23 years old when the visa is applied or until when the visa is granted (the final decision - after 36 months).

The reason is because I will be over 23 when the visa is granted.

Do I meet the requirements to get the visa subclass 143?

Thank you so much.

The answers are in the Migration Regulations: time of application and time of decision requirements.
