Hi All,

I have received 482 visa. My wife has received dependent visa and she is also software engineer as like me.

In case my wife's Indian employer wants to send her to Australia with offer/deputation letter for Australian client, then can my wife travel before me (main applicant)?

There are no visa conditions mentioned in her visa approval letter except '8501-Maintain health insurance'.

Please respond in case you have information.

Thanks for the information, however my company HR has said that dependent can't travel before main applicant in any case.

Do you have link of Aus immigration where the details of dependent travel are provided? In case I need to get the info from immigration, then how to contact them?

Unless your HR department includes a registered migration agent, I wouldn't take their word for it, and I can say this because I'm an HR Manager

Condition 8502 is the one to look for..."The holder of the visa must not enter Australia before the entry to Australia of a person specified in the visa." If she doesn't have this stated on her grant notice, then this condition does not apply.

I called Aus Immigration dept where they also provided same information. I have provided the same info and also given reference of this forum to my company HR . I have asked them to check with registered immigration agent.

One more question - Is there any default restriction/condition/policy which says that main applicant need to travel within some specific period after the dependent travels to Australia? I hope there is no such policy but just rechecking.

All the information is in your visa grant letter, as Maggie said. There is no ‘default’ - if there is no condition in the grant letter, there is no restriction.
