Hi all, i apply o n the 30th of june for a regional pernament residency 187 which u dont need a skill assessment. *This is what my agent Say to me o the email.

I have just received some bad news that the application was refused on the basis that they weren't satisfied that registration was not required for Diesel Mechanic.* There is no such thing as registration for Diesel Mechanic in the Northern Territory or anywhere else in Australia and this was notified to the case officer.*

I want to ask if anyone have any idea about that registration for diesel mechanic,,how can i prove to the immigration that there is no registration for diesel mechanic, where can i ask or go about that?

It’s impossible to comment without viewing the entire application and refusal letter. I know of an agent who gets lots of sc. 187 and 457 visas refused, especially in the NT. I hope it wasn’t him...

This seems like an absurd decision. Why would you have to provide evidence of not requiring a licence or registration, when your trade does not require licensing in the first place.

What is your agent saying about it?

You seem surprised Nick, a new name but still the same DIBP ways.

Not surprised, just restraining myself. I haven't seen the actual application, but the decision letter seems like a joke, a very bad one at that.

Have a look in ANZSCO for Migration Officer and Migration Consultant (RMA) and check the educational requirements for each occupation...

It can be noted that 'immigration' does not appear after the department's latest name change.

BTW
In the documents returned to ASIO by the ABC there was reportedly one in which a former immigration minister asked ASIO to 'slow down' character investigations. Could this be part of the reason that they took forever?
