Hi!

Here's a question concerning the job/occupation criterion for visa applications. If your employment record book states you currently have one occupation (in this case, programmer) but the job description sheet says you are handling consultancy/technical assistance tasks, which occupation will be taken into consideration when applying for an immigration visa?
I would very much appreciate an answer from anyone who has ever heard of a similar situation.

Thanks a lot!

The first thing you need to do is to get qualifications assessment for a particular occupation and it will be your qualifications and/or experience that will determine that.
Have a look starting with Workers - Visas & Immigration and under Professionals and Other Skilled Migrants you'll find a link to the Skilled Occupations List - SOL which list the Occupation Assessing Organisations, ACS for IT professionals.
