Hi Everyone!

I'm new to this forum so I apologize if this has been asked previously. I am currently living/working in the US. My partner is American and we are looking to move back to Australia next year.

I've read that we can register our relationship in VIC (my home state) to help with our visa 820 application.

Can anyone help if I need to be physically living in VIC to be able to register our relationship? I do have evidence showing I'm from there (driver's license, Medicare Card, Australian credit card and bills going to the address etc).

Thanks! It's frustrating that it is a requirement, given that many couples will apply for the visa outside Australia (I've heard this is quicker). I appreciate the reply
