Hi,

I was told you don't need to get documents certified anymore and a coloured copy is all you need now. My Partner is applying for the Partner Provisional visa subclass 309

Also my Australian parents and friends doing the 888 form, do they to get it witnessed by a doctor, JP, Pharmacist etc....? I was told that just a coloured copy of their passports and signature with the completed 88 form was ok.

Any help to clear this up is much appreciated. We are applying in August this year.

Not entirely true. It depends if you apply online or by paper. Online you just need to upload colour copies. Paper they do need to be certified.
For the 888 pretty sure they still need to be witnessed.

If a document says it must be witnessed, then it must be witnessed.

Certified copies are different as they are just copies. You are correct that colour scans can be used, but only for uploading to online applications. Paper copies must be certified to prove the are true copies of an original.
