Hi,
My brother is looking to visit us for Christmas this year, however his eVisa is taking forever. He does have a criminal record from 20 years ago but it was only a couple months conditional sentence, not a serious crime, and way under the 12 month limitation on the visa.
The DIBP website says they process 90% of applications within one day, but it took 7 days for them to request more information. We supplied that information, but now it's been over a week since we uploaded the documents.
I know he waited a bit too late to get this done (25 November) but that's how it is.
I've tried calling on his behalf several times (we uploaded a Form 956 authorising me to to communicate on his behalf) but they keep telling me they're busy with Christmas influx.
Does anyone know of a way to expedite the eVisa process at all? Is it normal for a 2 week visit to take this long to clear?
