Hello everyone,
This is my first post here. My Tongan husband is here in Oz on a 3mth visitor visa. We have recently applied to extend for a further 6mths, ostensibly while we organize paperwork for permanent migration application.
Immigration emailed me today to ask for further information. One of the questions being "Do you intend to apply for further temporary or permanent visas while on your extended stay?"

I'm nervous! Will it work FOR us, or AGAINST us, when we admit our intentions??

Also they requested further info for my son (also here on visitor visa), and we are intending to apply for citizenship via descent for him.
(We have been married 2.5yrs and have two children together, one of whom was born here in Oz, and one in Tonga. Prior to coming to Oz in August, we have been living together in Tonga).

You will be best to contact a Registered Migration Agent for a consultation.

Yes you can do what you intend to, but you fail to be a genuine visitor in doing so.

You should also expedite the kids applications.

A consultation will be a few hundred $'s but well worth it - you need to respond IAW policy and regulation to their request for more info.

I would recommend one on the sticky thread, they are all very good. I personally have used two of them.

Yep, but don't stress you have many bonus things.

As far as I see you lack time for a DYI after a request for more info.
