Hi all!

I'm Australian and living in Melbourne with my German g/f who is on the Working Holiday Visa (Subclass 417).

We shall be applying for the Onshore Temporary and Permanent
(Subclasses 820 and 801) Partner Visa in October.

I'll be sponsoring my partner and having read through the 40SP form I am unsure of whether I require a police certificate / check.

I lived in the UK between March 2003 - September 2010 and since November 2010 we have been living in Australia. We have no dependents.

Am I required to supply a Police Check from either the UK or Australia?

Thanks for any assistance, I'm sure we'll utilaise this resource over the coming months. Have already read some excellent posts. Keep it up guys and girls!

Matt

No, your GF needs to get one from Germany and maybe Australia too, depending on how long she has been living in Oz.

Good luck, plenty of helpful people here, this place is a Gods send ..... :)
That's what I thought! She's already on the ball and has just received her German police certificate.

We'll be submitting the application pretty much on exactly a year of living together in Australia (We did 2 years long distance in Europe).

I've been through partner visa applications in the UK, so with 3/3 successful applications I hope we'll be ok :)

When she gets her German police checks, don't forget to have them officially translated. I used the following company to get my Italian checks translated.. they were cheap and quick:

Translationz
1 Queens Road, Suite 413, Melbourne, VIC 3004 Melbourne
Phone (03) 9005 6661
Sydney Phone (02) 8003 5446
Brisbane Phone (07) 3040 0226

Hope this helps!
Your a gem! We have been trying to source a good company to do this! Thank you!
