Hello everyone,

Australian Home affairs site says that your Spouse need to have atleast Functional English score if you want to avoid extra payment of 4700 AUD and those scores should be less than 12 months old.

My Spouse has COMPETENT English Score in IELTS and the results are 13 months old. Will that be considered by DIBP as valid score as the results are valid till August 2019.

Well what i meant was my wife's competetive score is 13 months old and dibp asks for functional score which is less than <=12 months old.

But i just found out on their home affairs site that competitive score is valid for 3 years for immigration purpose.

Not for secondary applicants who have to satisfy the 'functional English' criterion.

Not to worry, the amount of the second instalment for those who do not is currently only $4890.
