Hi! I’m recently applied for 485 poststudy work visa. When I fill the application I give answer YES for the question “has any applicant ever had any outstanding debts to the australian government”. The reason is my spouse is paying tax repayment by monthly instalment payment method. That’s why I gave yes and explained in description “arranged payment method with ATO to pay tax”. After that my friends suggested me, that’s not a debt you don’t want to mention that and I’m confused now.Please any one answer me to this. Thanks

From what you posted, your friend gave incorrect advice and what you did was correct.
