Hi,
My name is Chrissy and I arrived in Australia with my daughter and granddaughter 19years ago on a Spouse Visa. I married and my daughter is now married and has other children. Unfortunately due to my son being engaged I had to leave him in South Africa. We are all British by birth and my husband and I are both retired. Circumstances changed for my son two years ago and he wanted to immigrate to Australia to be with his family. He is 40years old and arrived here 12 months ago and we were advised for him to apply for an International Student Visa. We managed to pay for the first year at Uni at $22,000 and he has nearly completed this with excellent High Distinction marks so far but he needs a company to sponsor him to remain here. For him to do another year at Uni, it will cost $55,000 which is just too much for the family to put together! As a mother I am at my whits end trying to find out which way to go forward and have my family together or he will have to return to South Africa which is not a great place to live these days! Can we approach Immigration in person and put our story forward or do we have to pay out more money for an agent? It has been a while since we went through this process.
Any information that could help would be very much appreciated.
