Hi guys,

I'm new here. I'm having a little doubt about the amount of points required to lodge a VISA application.

I'm looking to apply for SC189. On the immigration website, I saw that the points required for it was 65. But then I heard from few others that they got VISA recently with just 60 points. The EOI application seems to only care whether we have only 60 points. So what is it? 60 or 65?

Also, how does State Nomination (SC190) affect points? I mean, I know that we get 5 points with it and we have to live in the nominated state for some time. How many points do I need with it to be able to lodge a VISA application?

Thanks in advance. :)

189 => 60 pts

190 => 55 + 5 = 60 pts
Hi, thanks for the quick response.

Do you have a reference for this? An official document or link?

It says so in this document. I guess I can go with this, right?
immi.gov.au/allforms/pdf/1119.pdf
page 10.
"If a prospective applicant receives an invitation to apply and makes an application, their application will be
assessed against the points test. In order to be granted a visa, they will have to meet the pass mark -
currently set at 60 points. The points score assessed must also be equal or greater to the value of the
points that were claimed in the EOI."

Thanks
