Hi everyone,

I am a french guy, 29 years old and I have made a trip from Melbourne to Cairns last february for 3 months. It was just amazing !

Currently, I work as an IT close to Paris since november 2005.

My plan is to come back in OZ to take course in TAFE institute in IT network and telecommunication for 1 year. (At least)

So I need to take a student visa but my final goal is to have a permanent visa because I love this great country !

If someone is like me, let me know please :)

Thank you !

Sorry for my bad english :(

Hi Kangourou and welcome to the forum.
Being an international student in Australia is expensive and can be a long approach to get permanent residency and no guarantees on that, a minimum two years study in approved courses being necessary as one requirement.

Unless you used up your Working Holiday Visa for your previous trip, have you considered coming on one - Visa Options - Working Holiday - Visas & Immigration
That may enable you to find an employer sponsor for a 457 temporary residency visa which can lead to you getting permanent residency.

If you have a look in the Visas&Immigration section you'll see some sticky threads with references to the Immi site.
