Hi, just a quick question as I'm a little confused. I'm currently waiting for my wife's temporary partner 820 visa to be granted (applied in early January), after her prospective marriage visa 300 was granted last August. On March 12th we received an email asking for myself (the sponsor) to submit an Australian National Police Check ASAP, or to respond within 28 days. Within less than a week I obtained and uploaded my NPC to my immiaccount, replied to the email they sent me to let them know, and just to be extra safe, I also notified them within my immiaccount that I'd uploaded it. It's been a week or two since then, and I haven't heard anything back from them, so I was just wondering if it's normal to not receive a response yet. I'm just worried because when we were doing the prospective marriage visa and they requested more information from us, the visa was granted shortly after we supplied the remaining information, yet this time we've been met by radio silence. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Similar situation for us - applied for 820 after pmv 300 in June 2017. Sponsor police check was requested in October last year and it was supplied it within the timeframe. Notified them by email (not sure how you notify them within Immiaccount?). Anyway also got no response and haven't heard anything at all since then. I too got excited when I heard something so quickly but it seems they are just checking the sponsor has supplied police check, and if not, requesting it. I noticed the request came from the sponsor assessment unit, so I doubt our visa application has actually been looked at, outside of that.

May I ask kindly how you noticed this? Was it in the Email they sent you to request further info. I was recently asked for further info, (including a police check for my husband who is the Sponsor). Wonder if that means they are looking into my file, or just the sponsor side?!

At the bottom of the letter that had the request for information (sponsor police check) it had 'sponsorship assessment unit' written in the footer along with the contact details. Is that what yours said?

Similar situation to me in that applied for 820 (after PMV) in January 2018, received request for AFP report for my wife in March 2018 for the Sponsor "check"

I replied to the generic email address on the letter querying whether I could use an old AFP report from the PMV submission back in November 2016. They replied almost immediately and agreed to use the old report, completed their sponsor checking and stated the next correspondence I would receive would be from the Partner Assessment Team

I too got a little excited that things were starting to move but no further contact since mid-March

Anyone have any experience of how long the 820 processing time is after already being granted the PMV?
