Hello,

I am now applying for Category 175. I have a few questions:

1) I am including my wife in the application. Is it required, that she appears in the IELTS exam before i lodge an application or can i apply without her IELTS. I have my IELTS and ACS assessment ready.

2) Is it possible to convert category 175 to 176 after the lodging the application? I was thinking of applying state sponsorship for ACT but i read on some forums that i takes around 3 months for state sponsorship processing and by this time the laws may change. so i thought to apply for visa 175 and later convert it into 176 ? Is it possible or not ?

3) After lodging the application in category 175, if the laws change in july 2011, would it effect the applicants who have previously lodged their applications?

You can apply for the 175/176 and then your wife's english can be assessed later.
You cannot convert a 175 to a 176 and if you're considering a state sponsorship you ought to that first but with the ACT, you ought also be aware that a lot of employment there is with government departments and you need citizenship before employment with the government, far more opportunities in other states but IT is a very competitive for seeking employment.
The changes in July 2011 will not be significant and if you have applied under the existing regulations an application will be considered against those regulations.

Thanks Wanderer

I have been waiting for a reply since yesterday, refreshing the page again and again and finally got one. Thank you for replying

I feel the same, i guess 175 is more open and gives more freedom.

My wife is appearing in IELTS exam on 2nd April and her result might come somewhere on 15th April 2011. so i think i should submit my application with out wasting anymore time and as soon as i get my wife's IELTS result, i would submit that.

No, you can not. ACS result letter should be with you. along with IELTS result. Dont waste your money. It is over two hundred thousand pakistani rupees. They will deny your application if you dont upload ACS assessment and dont write its details in the application. wait for one more month. You might get ur ACS letter by 15 June. be prepared with every thing. As soon as you get it, just submit the online application.

brother,

have you hired a agent for yourself because you appear to have less information about applying for Immigration.

If you do not have an agent and you are doing all this by yourself, you have to go through the Department of Immigration & Citizenship website, and study your visa category requirements thoroughly.

As for this question. Yes, your IELTS result is also compulsory before you submit the application. You IELTS result should have the score of 7 / 9 at least in each and every component.

Hi Wanderer & everyone,

What is the delay limit of the english assessment of the supouse?
I am going to apply for 175 but my wife doesn't know enough english to get 4,5. (As far as I remember spouses need at least 4,5 points, correct?)
How much time do we have to get the necessary IELTS score of my wife?

Thank you in advance.

Dear Sir,
IELTS for spouse is optional which means once a case officer assessed your file, he will look for the IELTS for all secondary applicants aged over 16, in case it doesn't exist he will ask you for it or the 2nd installment.

regards

Dear raysool,

Thank you for the info! I've just checked the necessary pages and feel a little confused. As far as I understand, I do not need to pay 2nd installment or present an IELTS result of my spouse, since the case officer requests it.
But what happens afterwards? After the officer requests either the IELTS or the 2nd instalment payment, how much time will I have in order to present the IELTS score, or consider for making the payment? Are we talking about days, weeks or months?

Actually, that seems a quite important detail. Since you need to either pay $3575 as second installment or present an IELTS score at least 4.5 for your spouse, I should know the time limitation regarding to the subject.

Thank you in advance for your support.
