Hello there,

My partner and I are waiting for the second stage of our offshore partner Visa. Immi has contacted us asking us to provide evidence of intent to reside (criterion 4009).

Since Stage 1 was granted we have not been residing in Australia- we live in Montenegro. We have visited on 2 occasions both short term holidays. We had not planned to move until stage 2 was granted.

Will writing a statement be sufficient evidence??

We have the following points-
- we would like our child to be schooled in Aus- currently speaks English as 1st language.
- while in Aus we attended auctions and inspections to get a feel of property market.
- we have money (above 10k) in our Australian bank account which we have safeguarded.
- my husband did an online course with an Australian accredited school we he can transfer his qualifications over.

We currently own a business in Montenegro- hence why we are here now- but all intentions are to eventually move.

Will this be enough? We have 28 days to respond..... Help.

I suggest you include some convincing evidence to back up your statement.

Include some screenshots of properties you have inspected or are interested in, name the area/suburbs where you are interested in living, name possible schools for your child, if you have friends or relatives in that area. Show that you've done your homework about where you hope to reside.

Include a bank statement and copy of your husband's completed Oz course.

Don't just make a written statement, include screenshots and/or photos.

I would include details of what will happen to your business in Montenegro when you move to Australia.

Convince IMMI that you will be fully committed to living in Australia.
