and so the Australian citizenship?

Hi everyone!

I was considering moving to Australia for job opportunities, but Is it a good choice?

As every young man I'm some kind affraid of taking such decisions, I'm brazilian/colombian, living in Europe (France and Germany) I've been living here for nearly 9 years (5 in France and nearly 3 in Germany)
In both countries I have friends and jobs opportunities, I speak besides Spanish and Portuguese, fluent French and German and off course English ..

So the think is that I want to go to Australia, move, migrate if you want, on recognised graduate visa, but I'm really scared of llosing everything I built here, that visa is for 18 months after that I don't know if I could stay and so, loosing the opportunity to come back to Europe.

People I've spoken to, (Mainly some singapurians found in work) and even non white frenchs that were in Australia, told me that people was racist and there is an institutional racism, and only whites english speaking people are entitled to obtain a Permanent Residence permit..

So I'm very frustrated because I don't know what to do, here in Europe, there is no racism, race is what matter less, France has people from all over the world for exemple and all are considered french, even the "National party' (far right) don't claim on race issues...

But what about Australia, I'm affraid to accept moving there and being marginalised and gethoised, I fear that because here I've never experienced that. I'm skilled engineer but what should I do?

I also fear after this visa (18 months) I could'n stay in Australia further and if so I'would have loose my european residence permit..

So is Australia only good for holidays but I should not move there ?

This has got to be a troll!! High risk countries have a longer waiting time but may people still get their visas....as for your statement about not giving visas as they aren't white...what a moronic comment...they are high risk for reasons and none of those involve skin colour....

As for Asians not being successful or rich?!?!! Look in any designer store in Sydney and 95% of the customers are Asian...there are plenty of rich successful Asians and other nationalities in Australia .

As for that Apartheid comment....just wow...thought you couldn't sound more idiotic but there you go raising the bar again...i would say that Australia is not the right place for you. Not because of racism, more because of the multitude of problems that you seem to have.

Well how can you talk about it?

There is a social apartheid, most australians hate the true owners of the land, and believe they're just british leaving in the other side of the world
Why close the thread? is because is an inconvenient truth? feel sorry for you guys, even discuss aren't you able to?
Because the things you bring up are unfounded bs.

And plus, your question has already been answered.

Everything else you're bringing up now is just trying to provoke drama [troll].

And the answer to your question is: False. It is not true that not only white English speaking people can have PR.

Citation? According to who? Where are you getting these "facts" from?

About immigrants talking about, even there is articles about how apartheid australia works

It's not the truth. And as someone who hasn't been to Australia you have no grounds to make the comments your making.

Yet another false comment your making about aboriginals. Your generalizing and generalizing will only make you look ignorant.
Well but my question has not been answered, what about everyday life? and so on

read the article, is that not true? why wouldn't? Why not advise people that don't meet the "anglo-celtic" background needed to fit in "australian" society?

This information could be very useful for those skilled workers that could find better opportunities in less racist countries, don't you think?

LOL good lord. Have you actually read the comments? Most of the readers are saying the article is full of crap. Racism occurs EVERYWHERE in every country.

Here's one about the UK

Racism in the United Kingdom - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The BBC has reported that the latest crime statistics appear to support Phillips' concerns. They show that race-hate crimes increased by almost 600 per cent in London in the month after the July 7 bomb attacks, with 269 more offences allegedly "motivated by religious hatred" reported to the Metropolitan Police, compared to the same period last year.
Racist bullying: Far-right agenda on immigration ‘being taken into classrooms’ - Education News - Education - The Independent

More than 1,400 children and young people contacted ChildLine for counselling about racist bullying in 2013, up 69 per cent on the previous 12 months. Islamophobia is a particular issue in schools, according to the charity, with young Muslims reporting that they are being called "terrorists" and "bombers" by classmates.
Here's one about France

Egalité? Non: Is racism on rise in France? - CNN.com

"Racist attacks are on the rise in France," says N'Diaye."And racist slurs that used to be absolutely uncommon are becoming more and more common, if not more accepted, in growing parts of French society. So there is a lot to worry about when looking at the situation."
Here's one about Germany

Germany grapples with day-to-day racism | Germany | DW.DE | 02.09.2013

Racism not only affects black people in Germany, of which there are many fewer than in the US. Anti-Semitism is also a form of racism, as well as antiziganism directed against the Roma. "There are many parallels to other groups that are discriminated against in this country, the racist experiences are similar," said Della.
Again, racism exists everywhere. Australia has racism as well but it's not a big issue at all. Myself as a Vietnamese person, I can't even remember the last time or any time at all where someone has told me to "go back home" or "fuck off we're full". It simply isn't a thing to worry about. Life is good here and it's fair.

Basically, your argument is void.

Hope I'm wrong, really I hope so ... and thanks for answering, I'll think more about the idea of moving there..

BTW, what do you think about my 'english skills" at least on written level?
Sorry for everyone who felt offended that wasn't my intention, my only intention was to know more about myths and realities about being "non-white" in australia and how it is perceived in general everyday life

From your opening post, I sense so much fear in you. "I fear this." "I fear this" "I fear". Just ease up and relax a little. Don't believe everything you read online. They are sensationalized to just get people to read about it. Fact is, people here are very laid back, casual, fair and friendly (well most I've seen anyway).

Perhaps maybe you should get a tourist visa here first or something so you can see for yourself if you like it or not. And then you can decide if you want to move here. I still think you have too much doubts from all the crap you've read ;)

Full of grammatical errors but I still understood what you're trying to say. Not really a big issue :p
Mark Twain also once said: "Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience."

:D

What I wrote was a citation you know I copy and paste it from another internet site that talks about racist issues in mainstream and everyday life in Australia
Bulldust :p
Don't worry, guys, I saw what NSW posted here and on another thread and he's gone. We don't need drama-stirrers here.
