Hello to all,

Finally, my wife has been granted an Australian visa (i.e. 309).:)

The child who was dependent has been granted 100 visa.

Could you please advise if this is a typo error from department ?

Should we notify them ?

Henry

Hi Henry,

If you've been married more than 2 years and have a child together, OR if you've been married more than 3 years (with no child together), OR if you've waited longer than 2 years since applying for her 309, chances are she should have gone straight to the 100 as well. Definitely contact them.

If none of those things are true, I'm not sure why they would have issued the child with the 100. Interesting mistake.

Thanks for the reply college girl.

Well, online system VEVO shows it as 100 for both.

The document which was emailed to us shows 100 for child and 309 for my wife.

Should contact them ?

Sounds like your wife got the 100 as well! VEVO would be correct. Congratulations! If you want a letter that shows the correct visa subclass for your own records, you could certainly contact them, but VEVO reflects Immigration's own system, so they have her as a permanent resident now. :)

When the permanent visa is granted without the 2 year waiting period, the temporary visa is granted first and the permanent one straight after. So both your wife and the dependent applicant should have received 2 grant letters each. Maybe they got them mixed up.

Yes, I think they mixed it up. Anyways, I have already requested the department to re-send the document with visa subclass displayed as 100 instead of 309 as appears in online vevo system.

I am from Pakistan. The timeline is stated below:

Date of Application: 1st Dec 2016

Interview Date: 11 October 2017 (Requested additional form 1229)
(Form submitted online and via email the next day)

Visa Granted: 13 October 2017

Thanks everyone for your valuable comments/suggestions.

When emailed the high commission, to re-send the document for main applicant only (As explained above, the main applicant document states visa subclass as 309 instead of 100 as displayed in VEVO system), the following was their reply via email:

"Thank you for your email dated 13 October 2017. If you could please recheck
your emails and confirm if you have received notification for BC100.
Your notification for Grant of BC 100 visa was sent at the same as the
notification for UF309, they were sent five minutes apart.

If you have not received the email, let me know and I will organise to
re-send the notifications.

Please mark your email for my attention."

Currently, there are only two emails in my inbox with one document attached in each email.

In reply, what should I let the officer know?
Should I attach both documents and let them know once again exactly what went wrong ?

Please help

Regards,
Henry
