this Visa stuff is expensive! Lodged the papers for my husband's permanent residence visa and now awaiting call from CO. My husband had 3 sets of finger prints taken to use to get a Thai police check as he worked there for a couple of years and the guy who did it said that he probably have to go to some expensive Harley st doctor for the medical.

Were you given and choice of doctors and how much did your medical cost?
Thanks in advance for replies

Go on the immi page. Search for 'list of panel doctors' - choose your country and then closest city. You will get the name, address and contact details of the doctors you HAVE TO use. Then it's simply a question of emailing/calling them for the price.
Quite easy actually.

Hope this helps

As above, you have to go to a specific 'panel doctor' who immi list on the website. In London there are only 2 or 3 clinic, from memory, on the list. My partner had his medical in Nov 10 and it cost £228. It may have gone up slightly in the new year with the rise in VAT but that is a rough estimate of what you will pay.
