My partner and I applied for the onshore 820 Partner Visa in March 2018. We uploaded all required documentation at that time except only for the medical exam as our immigration agent advised to wait until it was requested, due to the fact that the medical exam results are only valid for 6 months.

The immigration department requested that my partner complete a medical exam on May 7 2018. He did so within 10 days, and results were received, reviewed and approved by the department.

It has now been 5 months since my partner's medical was completed, but we have heard nothing further in this time, with regards to my partner's visa application. My question is, does the department usually make a decision on a partner visa within 6 months of them requesting the medical? Or do they sometimes ask you to complete it more than once, if it expires before they make any decision?

Any information or shared experiences appreciated. Cheers.
