Hey everyone

I met my partner in Europe Aug 2016. He wanted to come back to Australia and decided to drag me back with him

Im currently on a Visitor Visa which lasts a year. We have registered our relationship last October but only been de-facto since May 2016. Which of course is not a problem now that we have the relationship registration certificate.

My concern is providing evidence for the Partner Visa. I am not on the lease on the property we are renting because I cannot work in Australia. We have joint contents insurance though.

I am concerned about how we can prove and provide more evidence of our joint commitment financially.

If I cannot get on the lease, will this be a problem? Or will they consider other ways to prove the relationship is committed?

Any advice would be very much appreciated.

How's the process going? Is it complicated? Im an Aussie who lives in Taiwan and plan to start the process for my wife (we have an 8 month old boy who's an Aussie citizen) and the process seems overwhelming! Are you in Oz now? How's that going?

My wife wasn't on the lease or property documents, and it wasn't an issue.

• Her bank account had our joint address, opened at NAB while on Visitor Visa. Sent photo of letters to both her and me (individually), with the same address. She had her own account at first, as well as being on our joint account later.
• I sent various photos of envelopes addressed to her at our address.
• I had her name added to the house contents insurance, and sent a copy of the new schedule.
