My fiance and I recently applied for our 300 PMV so that hopefully we can get married mid next year. We have our plans down for the year after, but after that things are more unsure
There is a reasonable chance that we will have to move overseas for a number of years, although it is our current intention is to move back to Australia.
The earliest we would need to move is early 2021, hopefully when my fiance is on his 820. I've read you can be anywhere when the 801 is granted but that Immigration may question why we are overseas. Is this still correct?
I also wanted to know what happens if we end up being away for most of or all of the validity of the 801? Do you need to have lived in Australia for X amount of time to retain PR? Would we have to apply for a partner visa all over again if it expires while we are gone?
