I have heard it is pointless to try to get a visa through my mom. She married as Aussie over 10 years ago and has been a PR for 5 years. Is this true?ATM I work as a tour bus guide in a remote area above the tropic of capricorn. Is there potential there to apply for some sort of visa? I have 1 year and 2 months left of my 462. It is incredible here and I don't want to leave. I do have a few girls who are willing to get married but I view marriage as sacred so I wouldn't be okay with using that to stay. Am I doomed to go to a new country after my 2nd year visa?

You could try this 802 visa if you meet the eligibility criteria (basically 'getting it through your mom'):
https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/getting-a-visa/visa-listing/child-802#Eligibility

Also, check if you qualify for skilled permanent visas out there: 189, 190, 489 (which leads to 887 which is a permanent visa).

There are more depending on your circumstances (187, 186 etc.) that a MARA agent will be able to advise about.
