I am new to this forum. Found some threads on splitting name into surname and given the name on Indian passport in Australia. My issue is slightly different.

1. I don't have a surname, so the given name is to be split into given name and surname.
2. My name is too long and finding it difficult to deal with in Australia. So need to cut it short.

I am currently on PR. I shall be applying for citizenship in 2018.
My concerns are,

1. Should I change my name on Indian passport now itself or is it better to change while applying for citizenship?
2. If I change it in the Indian passport, what is the formality? Also, how to update it in Australian immigration records?
3. For citizenship, I need to get Police clearance from other two countries, middle-east, and Philippines where I have worked in between. Will it be OK to change the name now in that situation?
4. After citizenship, whether OCI card will be issued with the changed name?
