Hi guys,

I have a small query,

Actually I have a 457 application active which was lodged 5 months back, can I go for a short term visa with out affecting 457 application? Will it get cancelled? Or are there any risks associated with it?

Did anyone went through this?

Please do clarify.. Thanks in advance

You can apply for another visa, it won't cancel the application.

Just remember the last visa that gets granted is the one your on, so if the 457 is granted on April 2 and let's say a tourist visa on April 3 then you will be on a tourist visa and your 457 will be irretrievable.

Basically cancel the short term visa application if your 457 is granted.

Mania, Thanks for the info.

What if short term application processes before 457?

If we go Australia with a short term one, then do we need to reinitiate 457? Which is not possible as there will be no 457 visas in the future.

Thanks Mania for your response, it's really helpful

One small query: will 457 get approved If I stay in Australia at that period with another visa? I mean, Will it get approved from onshore as well? Or I have to be at offshore at that time?
