Hi everyone, we are new to the forum. We are a family of 4. My DH, myself and two young boys aged 9 & 7. We are currently in New Zealand and are seriously considering a move to Australia. We have been in NZ for 5 1/2 years. Although we have settled well in New Zealand and do enjoy everything that New Zealand has to offer, there are some things that we would like to change. There are two big changes we are looking for. 1st better salaries for both of us. Second no earthquakes!

Well Australia offers both of these, otherwise you wouldn't see 78 thousand kiwis moving to Australia in last 4 months alone.
However mind that you can expect higher standard of living in Australia, with higher salaries you'll experience a bit higher costs (especially on the east coast where most Kiwis settle). Despite that kiwis have more benefits than any other non resident person, You wouldn't see large difference in your life until you become a permanent resident.

One thing you can be sure of Australia is very welcoming for our mates from across the ditch. This is as much your country as any Australian is. And employers treat kiwi experience same as Australian, unlike for any other newcomer (UK and Ireland included)
