I had my citizenship test and interview. The agent asked me to provide my birth certificate, however I dont have one and never needed one before. I explained this to him but he didnt care. Immigration sent me a letter asking for this now.

I dont know what to do. I thought birth certificate was not mandatory and passport could be used as a substitute. The invitation letter asks for 3 documents collectively showing photo, signature etc which were provided. Getting a birth certificate from my country is not straight forward and may even require trip back home (getting long time off work and the cost). Any ideas what to do? Any MARA agents that could give some advise? can i send a letter explaining this?
I know so many people who didnt submit birth certificate and were approved.

Thanks in advance
