Hi,

Sorry another question about the PMV application!

We are planning on getting married in the UK, therefore we won't be completing a NOIM - is a simple letter from the church in the UK confirming the date enough to satisfy DIAC?

Also, Stat Decs from friends/family- does it matter if they are quite short? ie straight to the point and only really a paragraph or 2 saying yes we really are genuine and together?

Thanks everyone for your help :)

When you apply for a PMV it is to get married in Australia and thus it would be normal to arrange a date, have a NOIM and you would get a letter in that regard.
If you then decide to marry once a PMV has been applied for, that is when you would notify Immi and the PMV would then be considered as a partner visa.
If you plan on marrying before the PMV is applied for, then you need to apply for a partner visa and in either case you should look at the evidence required as for a partner visa and having a residing together relationship of a minimum six months.

There is no harm in having a statutory declaration concise but it should at least disclose on what basis people have known a couple to develop the views they have and that may mean different people having differnt statements.
